If you're tired of chaning planer knives too often, there is no better upgrade than the Byrd Shelix head for your Powermatic 208 or 209 planer.  Each head is a direct drop in and features 5 rows of solid carbide inserts for a total of 100.  Each of Byrd's KN400 carbide insert is solid German carbide with 4 cutting sides so when one side dulls, just rotate and you're back working again.
