Byrd Shelix Head for Powermatic 100 12" Planer

The Powermatic 100 is one of the most desirable vintage planers out there so if you're contemplating upgrading or replacing, keep the old iron.  Byrd Tool makes one of their Shelix heads that is a direct replacement for the Powermatic 100 planer.  Each head features 6 rows of cutters for a total of 80.  Each cutter, or carbide insert, is German made solid carbide and will out last your steel knives by a good margin.  Each insert also has four cutting sides so just rotate went one side gets dull and your plaing again.
